It all started by chance in 1991. Eighteen-year-old Geir-Arne Bøe had just completed his carpentry studies, but a recession in the construction industry made it difficult to find an apprenticeship. While waiting for the market to recover, he took a job at Westplast in Herøy—an internationally recognized pioneer in robust fiberglass workboats and man-overboard (MOB) rescue vessels.He became so fascinated by the trade and the material that he never looked back.
Established in Fosnavåg
Geir-Arne founded KACE AS in 2007, alongside his brother-in-law, Kjartan Vike, who also brought valuable experience from the specialized maritime cluster at Skorpa and Westplast.
"We started as a niche supplier to the seismic and offshore fleets, but over the years we have evolved into a versatile partner for equipment and component suppliers across both marine- and land-based industries," Bøe explains.
In 2023, KACE AS acquired the rights to the renowned WP Series from Westplast. Today, the company proudly carries this legacy forward, manufacturing robust workboats engineered for demanding maritime operations.
